Galleon was incorporated in March 2003 by a group of former middle-level officers who retired from the Bank of the Philippine Islands after working for many years in different areas of the bank and who have therefore developed diverse expertise in various facets of banking operations.

Oli Garcia worked in BPI for 35 years and was entrusted with the handling of such critical areas as the bank’s central accounting, check clearing and HR services.

Dover Reyes is a licensed civil engineer who headed BPI’s Credit Services Division for more than 18 years, handling credit investigation and appraisal. He is also credited with setting-up the negative data bank for BPI.

Ernie Brillo had extensive experience in the operations side of auto and housing loans and was head of the auto appraisal unit at BPI Family Bank.

Jess Cifra started at Ayala Investment and Development Corp. (AIDC) which was subsequently merged with BPI. He established the BPI Remittance Center in Rome, Italy, BPI’s first remittance center in Europe, where he served as managing director for three years.

Ver Del Valle’s 31-year banking career with Bank of the Philippine islands included stints at International Operations, Treasury Operations, Trust Operations and Overseas Banking Group. His experience in international banking led to overseas assignments at BPI International Finance in Hong Kong, and at BPI New York where he was Head of Branch Operations for over 7 years.
